Photographing Birds

Photographing Birds:
Hello friends. I m back with after many days and a new camera.
The old one was a cybershot and the new one is a powershot. Well the difference, one is a point and shoot while other is a Bridge camera.
Well with the new Canon Powershot SX30 IS many new things are possible. One of them this Bird photography.
Photographing birds can be really frustrating. They never seem to sit still for even just a second, and if you get too close, they’ll just fly away.
EXIF Info: Shutter speed:1/800, Fstops: f/5.8, ISO:200

Some Tips to help you in photographing them:
1) Patience is the Key: You have to wait until you get the perfect shot of the day or the so called "keeper".
Birds will always flyby if you go near them, so wait for them to come near to you.

2) Lot of Zoom required: A zoom of minimum 21x or 400mm(Lens) is required to get the correct depth of field and the detail.
EXIF Info: shutter speed:1/250s, FStops: f/5.8, ISO:200
3) Shoot in bright sunlight: The bird photography also follows the rule of the Golden hours i.e 3 hours after sunrise and 1 hour after or before sunset. The light at these timings is perfect and you could get tack sharp images.

4) Use something to hide your movements: Use some kind of shade to hide yourself so that the birds won't find you to be threat.

5) Always be ready for the shot: Some great bird shots are actually shot accidentally, so always be ready for the shot.
EXIF Info: shutter speed:1/25s, Fstops: f/5.8, ISO:100
6) Try to shoot in 'AV' is aperture priority mode in canon to get the correct depth of field.
