Moon Photography

Hey guys like i said in the previous post with Canon SX30is yet another sector opens its door. It's Telephoto, and in that my favorite is Moon Photography. It follows the Earth on our yearly trips around the sun. It’s a constant companion, ever changing and moving across the sky. It’s our moon.
Being the brightest object in the night sky, it’s something photographers of all levels can shoot, however it does take planning and preparation to accomplish.

Like I said it might be tricky, but not impossible. Some of the tips given below could help you get best Moon shots.

1) Shoot in the Magic Hours: Moon has its own Magic hours which differ each day by about an hour. You can go online and find the time for moon rise in your city. The hours of Moon rise the moon is red. Its awesome to shoot the red moon.

2) Keep the ISO low to avoid the noise in your Photo.

3) Shoot in full manual mode to get full control of shutter and Aperture. Use f/8.0 for best results even f/11, f/16 works fine. Shutter speed of 1/60 could be good.

4) Try to get other objects in the foreground to make the picture interesting.
5) Lastly, give yourself time. Time to scout out a good location.

Photographing Birds

Photographing Birds:
Hello friends. I m back with after many days and a new camera.
The old one was a cybershot and the new one is a powershot. Well the difference, one is a point and shoot while other is a Bridge camera.
Well with the new Canon Powershot SX30 IS many new things are possible. One of them this Bird photography.
Photographing birds can be really frustrating. They never seem to sit still for even just a second, and if you get too close, they’ll just fly away.
EXIF Info: Shutter speed:1/800, Fstops: f/5.8, ISO:200

Some Tips to help you in photographing them:
1) Patience is the Key: You have to wait until you get the perfect shot of the day or the so called "keeper".
Birds will always flyby if you go near them, so wait for them to come near to you.

2) Lot of Zoom required: A zoom of minimum 21x or 400mm(Lens) is required to get the correct depth of field and the detail.
EXIF Info: shutter speed:1/250s, FStops: f/5.8, ISO:200
3) Shoot in bright sunlight: The bird photography also follows the rule of the Golden hours i.e 3 hours after sunrise and 1 hour after or before sunset. The light at these timings is perfect and you could get tack sharp images.

4) Use something to hide your movements: Use some kind of shade to hide yourself so that the birds won't find you to be threat.

5) Always be ready for the shot: Some great bird shots are actually shot accidentally, so always be ready for the shot.
EXIF Info: shutter speed:1/25s, Fstops: f/5.8, ISO:100
6) Try to shoot in 'AV' is aperture priority mode in canon to get the correct depth of field.
